Educational Information and Resources

The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy : ACEEE publishes a wide range of consumer guides, reports, and conference proceedings for consumers and energy professionals.

Environmental Law & Policy Center's Pollution Calculator: Use the ELPC Pollution Calculator to find out how much pollution is in the electricity you use every day and ELPC's Renewable Energy Tips: Renewables plus efficiency can reduce, or even eliminate, pollution that results from your household energy use. More tips from the ELPC.

The Illinois Solar Energy Association (ISEA) was founded in 1975 and chartered by the State of Illinois in 1979. They are a non-profit volunteer organization with the goals to provide energy education and to promote the application of solar and renewable energy technologies. The ISEA is the Illinois chapter of the American Solar Energy Society.

Iowa Renewable Energy Association (I-RENEW) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the use of renewable energy and energy conservation in Iowa. Thanks to them for sharing their link resources!

The Midwest Renewable Energy Association is a nonprofit network for sharing ideas, resources, and information with individuals, businesses, and communities to promote a sustainable future through renewable energy and energy efficiency.

The Rock River Times has great local coverage of Renewable Energy issues including a weekly column by the Illinois Renewable Energy Association's own Robert and Sonia Vogl. To view the column click on the Renewable Energy section from their drop-down categories menu at the top of their left-hand column.

Sustainable Minnesota's biomass page provides a wealth of links and resources.

The Union of Concerned Scientists has an information-packed site. Use their drop down boxes and select Renewable Energy for briefings, case studies, analysis and guides.

Wind Map of Illinois, very detailed so could take a few minutes to download.

DSIRE, a comprehensive source of information on state, local, utility, and federal incentives that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency.
